Apprenticeship

"HEP"

  • "HEP" for and individuals between the age 12 to 15 years of age for the purpose of hunting.

  • Mandatory to complete Non-Restricted Firearms Safety Course and test  Hunter Education Program and test.

  • Apprentice must share a single firearm with Mentor

  • Apprenticeship is valid for up to three years and is not renewable

  • Must be under the direct and immediate supervision of a qualified Mentor

  • Mentor is any person who is 18 years of age or older who is the holder of a valid firearms licence, and hunting licence to hunt the species of game being hunted.

"MINOR"

  • "MINOR" for and individuals between the age 15 to 18 years of age for the purpose of target practice or hunting.

  • Mandatory to complete Non-Restricted Firearms Safety Course and test Hunter Education Program and test.

  • Upon completion of the Firearms Safety Course and Hunter Education Program the Apprentice must apply to the Chief Provincial Firearms Office for application for a minors licence

  • This will allow him/her to carry his/her own firearm

  • Must be under the direct and immediate supervision of a qualified Mentor

    • Mentor is any person who is 18 years of age or older who is the holder of a valid firearms arms licence, and hunting licence to hunt the species of game being hunted.

This program can be taken as a "One Stop Shopping" which includes:

  • Non-Restricted P.A.L.
  • Hunter Safety Training Course
  • We support HEP & MINOR Hunter Ed Programs
